Monthly Tango Workshop
Open to the general public, this workshop is designed to support our volunteers’ ongoing learning and immersion in tango. We’ll explore the foundations of tango structure, technique, and musicality in the context of traditional figures. No dance experience required!
Tango Workshop Teachers
Sarah Chung
Sarah Chung is an Argentine tango dancer, teacher and performer based in Philadelphia. Many years of teaching and dancing in the US, Argentina, Europe and Asia has shaped her approach to tango. Her style is defined by strength and assertiveness, a strong sense of the music and a playful connection with her partner.
Damian Lobato
Born and raised in Argentina, Damian Lobato started dancing tango in 1991. In 2000, he left his profession as a dentist to devote himself to dancing professionally. Since then, he has been teaching and performing in Argentina, Central America, Europe and the United States. Damian belongs to the generation of dancers that helped revive the tango scene after 30 years of decline.
Iwona Ionescu and Pablo Garcia Gomez
Drawing on their professional careers in education and driven by their passion for teaching, Iwona and Pablo bring a thoughtful approach to teaching Argentine tango, centered around empathy, student strengths and well-being. Iwona and Pablo’s instruction also reflects study with master teachers from Argentina and other countries, and years of their own experience teaching tango. They currently teach at the Princeton Adult School and at Princeton's Viva Tango, where they are artists in residence.
